Meet Kristine

Kristine Lytle, a lifelong resident of Cayuga County, has dedicated herself to her community. Alongside her husband Timothy, she has called Cato her home for 33 years, raising their two daughters, Andreah and Mikalah. Kristine is a graduate of Union Springs High School. She furthered her education at Cayuga Community College, earning  an AAS degree in Liberal Arts. Additionally, she holds a leadership certificate from Onondaga Community College.

In 2007, Kristine began working with the Cayuga County DMV.  In 2010, she was promoted to a member of the supervisory team. Kristine played a pivotal role in reconfiguring cashier workstations to improve customer service. She also aided in the implementation of the Qmatic ticket system, revolutionizing customer service by cross-training all cashiers, eliminating waiting lines, transitioning to paperless transactions, and implementing customer-facing devices for a more streamlined experience.  Kristine is instrumental in the organ donor campaign. Her efforts have helped make Cayuga County become  one of the top organ donor participants in NYS.

Beyond the DMV, Kristine has gained valuable work experience as a Senior Clerk at the Cayuga County Clerk's office, working closely with current County Clerk Sue Dwyer. She has also served as a Customer Service Representative at KeyBank and a substitute teacher at Cato Meridian Central Schools. Additionally, Kristine has generously volunteered her time with various community organizations. She has been an Odyssey of the Mind Coach, a Girl Scout Leader, and a Classroom Assistant. Kristine has also dedicated herself to booster club events, church fundraisers, sewing for many community organizations, and the Tim Tebow Foundation's Night to Shine event.

Outside of her professional and volunteer endeavors, Kristine's passion extends to spending quality time with her family. Every Sunday, they come together to cook and enjoy a 3-generation family dinner while sharing stories from their week. Kristine also enjoys the great outdoors, particularly through hiking waterfalls, kayaking, and horseback riding.  She loves working out at the local gym, playing cards, and listening to live music performances that are offered throughout the community.

Kristine plans to continue the mission of the Cayuga County Clerk's office, "To provide Excellent and Efficient Customer Service to every single person who walks into the County Clerks Office."  She will continue to be a strong advocate in all four departments and will be a hands-on Clerk, working day-to-day alongside the staff of all four departments. She will be increasing services that are offered online while also increasing availability to in-person services. Kristine will bring more user-friendly services to our community through technology and restore past services that have been eliminated. Kristine will continue working on the DREAMS Project to ensure its successful completion. She will be a strong advocate for our county residents and a familiar face in the Cayuga County Office Building.

Kristine Lytle's work experiences and strong dedication to Cayuga County make her the ideal candidate for Cayuga County Clerk. Her commitment to our community and proven leadership skills will allow her to excel in this role.
